 The High Mountains of Britain & Ireland West Highland Way: Trailblazer

Photos of a bike & hike from Lochgoilhead to The Saddle

 - an outlier of the Arrochar Alps

 in Ardgoil Peninsula.

Initially along the Dukes Path

then from the trail head a complex route through dense forest

involving the climbing of a fixed rope,

 installed by rock climbers to negotiate a set of rock outliers ,

 ( with a " bad step ", awkward manoeuvre at start / foot ),

gained the open slopes above the tree line

and hence the rugged, rocky summit.

Fine views over Loch Goil and Loch Long.
